car stalling

My car has been stalling when I'm backing out of a parking spot or doing a three point turn around. It runs fine until I stop and try to go again. It's fine driving down the road and will back out of parking spots after it's warmed up. Is the vacuum pot thing behind the intake my issue? Thanks for any help in advance.

Re: car stalling

I would suspect a dirty iac motor, the vacuum pot is there to help when letting off the gas quickly (as when shifting) no for low speed cruise

Re: car stalling

The dashpot just dampens the throttle so it doesn't snap shut.

I would also suspect a dirty IAC

Re: car stalling

Is it as cmplicated to clean as it looks? I may just have my cousin who's an electrical engineer do it for me.

Re: car stalling

Thanks. I'll probably just do it this winter if it won't cause any other issues?
