I just get my commander to sign it. Car racing is probably the most popular so it shouldn't be a problem.

Just remember there's a technical difference between a track day, hpde, and a race. Racing is a competitive event held by an organisation with the intent for winning a prize or cash value award. As far as contracts and the military is concerned, or insurance for that matter, you are not "racing" at the ng.

As far as the military is concerned, there isn't a difference for the purpose he is getting his saftey chit signed. It shouldn't be a big deal, but he still has to sign a piece of paper. Otherwise if he gets hurt or something on the track, he could be in big trouble with his command. Damaging government property or something....

Well that is also the truth. The whole commander thing is just so if something does happen, I am covered. I could go and do what ever I want and be fine. But lets just say i lose control and go into the wall at 120 or something insurance wouldn't be covered and my parents wouldn't get monies if I die.

Just so you know, ". . . I could go and do what ever I want and be fine. But lets just say i lose control and go into the wall at 120 or something insurance wouldn't be covered and my parents wouldn't get monies if I die" is not true. Your insurance will pay out as any other premium life insurance will. There are not provisions on it (suicide MIGHT be the only one, but I don't know anyone in a position to confirm or deny that). It just doesn't have any war clauses.

There was a time when I think the insurance companies tried to not pay if you didn't have a seat-belt on, or a helmet on, but that concept got nixed long ago.
