hey everyone im new to this
hi every my name is andrew.im new to these forums.my friend told me that these are the best ways to find out answers to your problems.and unfortuantely i have an issue right now.ok i bought a 94 3000gt a few weeks ago.it is a 5speed.when i bought the car there was a really loud noise coming from the transmission.when i would push in the clutch the noise would stop.but after i would let go of the clutch the annoying noise would be heard again.ok now i only drove the car about 3 times until it took a shit on me one night, the clutch wouldnt engage and the car kept stalling.so i was thinking the release bearing or clutch or pressure plate.so finally i just took the transmission out and it wasnt ether of them.took the transmission to a mechanic and he said the transmission was bad.and i kinda figured that after i started trying to manually shift into gears and the noise would happen again just not as loud.so i bought a new transmission.now this transmission is off a 93 3000gt.they look identical.so i was hoping you guys can tell me the differences between them or will there have to be new things added.will i have to buy new cv axles?please help me out.im stuck at this point and i really want to get this car on its 4 wheels and driving good.

Re: hey everyone im new to this
The trannies should be the same. What are the numbers on them?

Re: hey everyone im new to this
I'm not too familiar with transmission codes but there should be numbers on a metal plate attached to the tranny. If the two tranny numbers match that should be a good sign

Re: hey everyone im new to this
I'm guessing by his tag that the one he has is, too...I'm thinking we have a match. But, I'm a driveway mechanic not a professional; don't go on my advice unless somebody more knowledgeable backs me up on this.
If it sounds like nuts and bolts in a blender, chances are the gear oil was too low and the transmission started to grind itself to dust from lack of lube. I had that happen to my '83 Firebird, and it didn't end well; I had to replace the transmission.
