Hey, i'v had a 92 gto for about 2 years now and my motor just went in it maybe 6 months ago, i'v decided that im going to overhaul the whole thing from paint to interior and everything under the hood !

I'm wanting to get the most horsepower out of it as i can without having to get my car tuned every month. I want it to be somewhat reliable. I'm willing to strip everything out of the hood of the car and rebuilding everything. I'm no mechanic and this will be my first time building a car. I'll be doing it with my dad who is a mechanic but never did anything like this.

Suggestions on what to do with it ? I realize this is question could be answered with a 10 page answer but what ever you guys are willing to do to help me with be much appreciated.

Thanks !

Been browsing the threads, gained a lot of info, but I'm not brazen enough to think I know everything there is about heat ranges now.

I picked up a set of BKR6E NGKs from PMP; They're what NGK recommends...the last two sets were 7s. Well, and a misguided attempt at putting Platinums in back in '04...those plugs got pulled right out for the crime of sucking.

In the past, my plugs have always come out fouled; granted, a rear turbo that was losing oil [keyword was...that turbo is now in a box in the trunk] is mainly to blame for that. Given my mods [downpipe-back, minor drivetrain lightening, and a soon-to-be-installed K&N], am I in danger of hurting the car running 6s...or with its propensity to foul plugs, will the hotter ones do right by me?

I have a 1992 Dodge Stealth RT/TT Twin Turbo AWD AWS for sale. 120,000 miles. I purchased this car in February of 2010. The car ran great. At the time I replaced the battery, Fuel Filter, All Fluids, Power Steering Belt, A/C / Alt. Belt, and Alt. Idler Pulley. After a few miles the car developed a miss. I determined that the Timing Belt had slipped and bent several valves. I decided that I was going to tear the car down and make it a project car. The car is still not completely together. Here is a list of new parts and what I have done to it so far.

1.	Complete new interior. The only blemish in the interior is the top of the driver’s side door panel is worn where you put your arm. The interior in this car is beautiful. Every thing works, gauges, stereo, A/C controls, etc.
2.	PCM was rebuilt.
3.	Front Bumper and Rear Bumper removed and freshly painted by a local Body Shop. They have not been reinstalled. You will need to purchase new M6 bolts to attach the bumpers. They cost very little.
4.	Complete Head job with new valves and seats. Head work completed at Spradlin Machine Shop in Mexico, Mo. Heads were milled.
5.	New Head Gaskets, New Head Bolts, New Valve Cover Gaskets, New Cam Seals, New Exhaust Manifold Gaskets, New Intake and Plenum Gaskets, New Injector Seals, New Turbo Oil and Turbo Coolant Line Hoses and Clamps, New Water Pump O-Rings, New Water Pump Gaskets, New Turbo Gaskets, New Turbo Oil and Turbo Coolant Line Compression Crush Washers, New Fuel Line O-rings, New Hose Clamps on Intercooler Hoses and Radiator Hoses, New Exhaust Flange Gaskets, New Turbo Oil Return Gaskets, New lower Timing Gear, New Harmonic Balancer, New Down Pipe Gasket, New Adjustable Turbo Pressure Regulator, and New Vacuum Hoses. I know there is more I just can’t think of everything right now.
6.	Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel
7.	I have the New Gates Timing Belt Kit that needs to be installed.
8.	Borla Cat-back Exhaust
9.	Cat Eliminator Kit
10.	K&N Filter Kit
11.	Vacuum Delete
12.	SVT Cobra Wheels – Gives this car a mean look. Tires more than 50% tread.
13.	New Spark Plugs
14.	New Spark Plug Wires

I am sure I am missing something that has been done!!!

I have approximately $6000 invested in this car. I have taken a 2nd job and I just do not have time for it anymore. As I said the bumpers, timing belt kit, and several other things need to be completed on the car before you can get it going. I was planning on having a 4-wheel alignment done after it was put back together because it seemed to pull a little when I drove it last. I still needed to have the rear hatch painted because it has a little clear coat peel. Paint is excellent otherwise. What should I ask for it?
Thanks,
Craig

Hi guys. I bought a 91 Dodge Stealth ES (DOHC v6 3.0L non-turbo) at the beginning of the month. I managed to get the car cheap cause it had a rod knocking and I finally got the motor pulled and was going to rebuild it until I saw the extent of the damage. Apparantly the previous owner didn't know wtf he was doing.. Found an intake bolt wedge in the intake port on the front cylinder head. Spun 3 rod bearings and egg-shaped another rod and was missing another bearing (probably the metal shards found in the oil pan), and the thrust bearing damaged the block and crankshaft by wearing out huge grooves.. so long story short there is nothing reusable inside the block or the block itself.
So I'm going to just get another motor and I was checking around some places around here and found a motor from a 94 3000gt. My question, is there a difference between the 94 engine that would cause problems with installing it in my car? The books mention the 91 & 92 are the same, then 93 up is something else so I need to know whats different before I investigate this motor.

Don't want to sell it..... but all things must come to an end.
I bought this car for $300 dollars in 2005. It had 71000 miles, holes in the seats, no A/C..(It still doesn't, but for obvious reasons), and 2nd gear was... lets say an adventure... but if you babied the shift... it went right into gear. The paint was so oxidized, the car was pink, not red. The paint is original, it buffed up pretty nice. The exterior is not perfect, it is a 19 year old car. There is just under $20,000 invested in the car, mostly mechanical upgrades. Set up to run both pump and race fuel. C16 seems to get the most from the car. The odometer currently reads 89687. There are 3000 miles on pistons, crank, and rods. Adjustable suspension and Active Aero still function. Way too much fun to drive.
I will listen to all offers!
