Plans are underway for the 2012 UMG in Wisconsin Dells. This year's event will be happening May 18th through the 20th. Once again we will be doing two rural cruises. One on Friday morning and one on Sunday morning. They were both a lot of fun last year. I'm also hoping to add another fun event on Saturday. Instead of going to the car show, I'm hoping to have our own car show for 3/Ses at a local restaurant along the main drag. Stay tuned for that.
I have the hotel arrangements worked out. We'll be at Baker's Sunset Bay Resort again. Last year they added some more buildings and added a lot more parking. It turned out great! We will be getting there "A" rates again for Friday and Saturday nights. The cheapest rooms are the lakeside ($88) and non-lakeside ($78) double queen rooms. Also, for people wanting to stay over on Thursday or Sunday nights, these same rooms will be $49 for those nights. If you are planning on staying in one of the bigger rooms for Thursday or Sunday nights, we can get deals on those. Just contact me if you want to know more.
You can book your reservations now. Baker's number is 1-800-435-6515 and their website is: http://www.sunsetbayresort.com/ Just mention my name or the Minnesota 3/S car club to get the discounted rates.

Hey everyone,
Its been awhile since I've made any updates for the UMG. We have a dismal 38 sign ups so far: http://www.mn3s.org/upper-midwest-list.html
I was hoping to add our own little car show for this year's UMG. But to be honest, with this low of a turnout, it is not really worth it. If you really like going to the UMG, then you need to help get the word out and get us some better sign up numbers.
We'll still have a rural cruise on both Friday morning and Sunday morning. The rest of the schedule will need some tweaking.

I talked with Baker's Sunset Bay Resort today. We have 19 rooms booked so far. Don't wait until the last minute to get your room. The cheaper rooms are almost gone!
We now have 51 people signed up. So that is looking better. If your 3/S friends aren't committed coming, its time to start bugging them. Make sure to bug your 3/S friends that are NOT on this list:

I'm also working on getting our own little car show set up for Saturday. It will be just for 3/Ses. Nothing concrete yet. More to come....

Hey everyone,
Not too much new to report. Looks like we have 25 rooms booked at Baker's so far. There are very few of the cheaper rooms left.
I haven't had much luck setting up a 3/S car show. The place I want to do it at has been unresponsive so far. I'll keep at it, but its not looking too good. If it doesn't work out, we'll have a schedule very similar to last years, but we'll find a different Friday night dinner location and do a different boat cruise. Stay tuned....

Good news! I finally have made some progress on the car show thing. We'll be having a car show at Marley's from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, May 19th. We'll probably give a few trophies out. And people can go into Marley's to eat during the show. More to come.....

This year we also have a couple of sponsors. Alan from 3SGTO.org is donating a couple of $50 gift certificates. One for Ninja Performance and the other to IPS. Thanks Alan! Also, Dan from Midwest Turbo Connection is giving us some giveaways. Thanks Dan! We'll give these prizes away at the 3/S Car Show on Saturday.

Hey everyone,
We have a few more sign ups. We are up to 59: http://www.mn3s.org/upper-midwest-list.html
I'm getting some of the paperwork together for the car show. We'll be giving away three trophies. Best 91-93 3/S, Best 94-99 3/S, and Best Overall. Everyone who gets their 3/S in the show, will also be able to vote. When you register your car on Saturday morning, you'll get a voting slip. So each car will need a car sign. Then you'll get a car number to put on your sign when you register.
To get a jump start, you can download your sign and fill it out before the show and print it off. Here is a link to the sign:
http://www.mn3s.org/car-sign.doc
Here is an example of one of my signs:
http://www.mn3s.org/car-sign-curt.doc
For those of you familiar with the All Mitsu Cookout, its pretty much an exact copy of that. You can also fill out your sign the day of the show.
The UMG is almost here!!!

It is exactly $0. It is completely free to attend. Just pay for your gas, hotel, and food and you are set. If you do the boat tour you'll obviously have to pay for that.
Hope you can make it,
Curt
