so, here is how my weekend went.

Saturday, picked up my ATR downpipe, removed stock downpipe, took both to Meineke to have them weld my O2 bungs in. $30 later, went home to install it. Installed the downpipe, went to screw the O2 sensors in, the front one was hitting the transfer case. Pulled the downpipe, screwed the O2 sensors in, attempted to install that way. Front O2 hitting transfer case. Attempt to bend O2 sensor. Doesn't bend. Front O2 bung was weld in straight when it needed to be at an angle. Gave up for the day.

Sunday, worked on finishing up my gauges, got them all straightened out. Meineke isn't open Sunday, so couldn't fix the downpipe. Went to pull car out of garage, battery dead, when it started 5 minutes earlier. pushed it out of garaged, jumped it, let it run for 5 minutes. While running, looked down, and there was a stream of coolant running out from under the driver's side...wonderful. Turned it off, let it sit.

Put EGR blockoffs on Jon's car. Simple, I have done this a couple of times.

Pulled mine back into garage, jacked it up, checked coolant level, it looked fine, started car, ran it for a few minutes. Crawled under car. Coolant had come from above the oil filter, because there was a little bit on the filter, and above. but, there was no leak now. set the car down, left it running for another few minutes, still no coolant leak. wtf??

changed spark plugs. not as bad as I thought it would be. Took Jon and I 2 hours to do. NGK coppers at .032. MSD 8.5mm wires. started car. it was idling high, and the engine was running a bit rough, as it was moving quite a bit at idle. A/F gauge just sitting at lean, and not moving...pulled battery to reset. came back 25 minutes later, hooked battery back up, started, idling normal, but A/F still reading lean only at idle. it moves when I press the gas though.

this morning, back to Meineke with stock and ATR downpipes. Told them front was put in wrong, answer, "you didn't tell me that when I installed it." reply, "that's why I brought the stock one in the first time." answer "well, we'll just have to cut the front of the downpipe off, and weld in a new piece of shit pipe that we use, and we need you to bring it in installed on the car, but it is illegal for you to drive without a cat." reply "ok, I will be back" so screw them. I am going to take it someplace else on my lunch break today and see if they can fix it.

So, my weekend was half good half bad.

just got back from the performance shop. Hopefully I will be able to pick the DP back up tonight. I have to pay $65 for labor to remove and weld on a new bung, and $12 for a new bung. Wonderful.

Here is my plan of action. Once I get the DP back, take my receipt for the fix back to Meineke, and tell them I want them to refund me the amount. When they say "no" I will say that I am sure that Meineke Corporate would like to hear that the mechanics use the building for personal gain (I have paid them about $50 for little things here and there that the mechanics just pocket and don't run through) especially because it could be considered tax evasion if the mechanics don't report it (which I am sure they don't). It could also be a violation of the franchise code for Meineke.

Isn't there another word you can use instead of "bung"?

Damn, I thought this thread was gonna be about you and Bacho winning the transvestite twister contest.
