I just picked up a 91 stealth and seein as it won't kick over ill be spending my free time on the forums lol. Now as to why it won't start idk. Its got fuel. Its got spark although kinda laggish. I'm tryin to see if the dizzy is off a few teeth or something. After that I guess ill check the CAS. I just need to find a compression tester and a timing light. Is there a timing mark on the dizzy?

I just found out that the maf is from a 94 and mine is a 91. I've been told that would make it not start and I've been told its fine and it shouldn't effect anything. Anyone got any insight on this? I've searched and found nothing

I don't think it'll matter so long as they're both from the same generation and engine.

Granted, I don't know if we even had multiple MAFs or not, hopefully one of the more knowledgeable guys pops in. If I had to guess, you might not be making enough spark to ignite the mix; either that or the timing's off by a mile, and you're blowing the charge out the exhaust ports. Not trying to insult or anything (Dunno how good you are with a wrench, since we just met...if you're asking about a timing light, I'm probably asking to be snarked at for asking about the basics), but how are the plugs/wires/cap/rotor, gaps correct, all that jazz?

Could always be the ECU, too; when all else fails, check it for leaky caps.

Check cam timing first thing. While it's at #1 TDC, check dist timing, pop the cover off and make sure it's pointed at #1. Mark the notch on the crank pulley with a white paint pen or something so you can see it while using the timing light. Yes, you can check the time during cranking to see if it's anywhere close, just takes a handheld starter button or two people.

If you're confused, get or download the service manual, it'll walk you through the procedure step by step. It'll take days for me to explain it over the internet.
