ok, so a couple of weeks ago my wife couldn't get her tt awd stealth to go into first gear. when you tried to put it in first the shifter just stopped, kinda like it hit a wall. clutch felt a little soft, so i bled the slave cylinder and everything worked just fine.

fast forward to last week. wife was driving the car and couldn't get it to go into ANY gear. no grinding at all, just like shifter was hitting a wall and couldn't go anywhere. i got to her about an hour later, clutch felt nice and strong, so i started it and it worked just fine. i drove it home without a problem.

any suggestions? transmission did not grind when trying to put in gear in either case.

throw out bearing not sliding freely on transmission input shaft... happens on higher mileage cars that have a build up of clutch "dust" in the bell housing

What's the fix for this? Pull trans and replace bearing?

replace the bearing and make sure to throughly clean the input shaft slide so the bearing moves freely.

I would try to duplicate the problem before removing the trans though because there is other things it may be, this is just the most common thing I see
