Ok for anyone that doesn't know, I have a 1992 3kgt vr4.So I'm driving to work , rolling the window up and then bam! The window fell out of the track. It din't break. I'v been looking at this link that I will post. I see how to get the door panel off perfectly without breaking anything but I don't see how to set it back onto the track. I'v honeslty never encounterd this problem with any vechile. Any tips on what to do when I get in there and also why did this happen and can it be prevenented?

Here's the link. It's really helpful , usually I break door panels haha.

Yea so not good...Going to have to order a new pulley, cable and maybe a window motor. The left side window won't go down now either. WTF!

Girlfriend getting too wild in the GT huh? I'd make her fix it. Darn women.

Haha the passengers window wasn't working because the drivers brain wasn't working WINDOW LOCK...talk about staring you right in the face.

I'm glad it's not an American door.

Ouch. I suppose your next thread will be CAR WON'T START. Then a few hours later, "the key wasn't in it". Awesome. Just screwing with ya.

Had the same thing happen to my driver's door shortly after I got it...it's a once-piece all-pulley assembly, more than likely one of the pulleys broke, the cable frayed against it, and eventually snapped.

It's not too hard to do yourself, the worst part is needing a second guy to keep the window itself out of your way. Cost me about $350 for the part, but that was 7 years ago.

Couldn't you have gotten it cheaper used?

I'd say that's exactly what happened. One of the pulleys did break, the cable din't break though. You can get a used one on Ebay for $150.00 or a new one for $250.00. I ordered the new one , in hopes that I will never have to deal with this again. I'm so glad that when the cable broke , the window din't break. When you got your new part did it have both pulleys? On the the top of the door there are two pulleys that that sit next to eachother, I'm just wondering if both pulleys are part of the "one piece"?

I could have, but it wasn't worth the risk of having to replace it...again...if I happened to get one just a few months from death. I'd also paid extra to get a Mits factory replacement from a dealer, not one of the 'one size sorta-kinda-but-not-really-fits most' deals from Autozone.

You got lucky with how your pulley went, then...when my cable split, I knew it....I was awake when I got to work that day, that was for sure! =>

When you get it, it should have the motor, cable, pulleys, track...everything but the window glass itself. Take off the door panel [beware hidden screws along the bottom; the speaker plate doesn't come off], detach the window glass, have a buddy hold it 'up' while you swap assemblies, and then spend an hour or two cussing about how your arm doesn't bend that way trying to get the window bolted back to the riser.

Good to know the prices came down, though...my passenger side one works, but is sluggish. Might have to replace it in the next year or three.
