So I recently dicovered two of my valve cover bolts are not taking what so ever and one of them is snaped. When I had the gaskets changed out at the mits dealer, they must have done this. Anybody got any idea how to get the 2 bolts to take, without drilling ect...? Also any idea where I can get some replacement bolts?

Bring it back to the dealership and bitch. Make them fix it and give you a Coke to drink while you wait.

I def should, what a bunch of pricks! They knew they stripped them. I just figured by the time I call them, miss work to get the car in there, and proably get it fucked up worse, I could just drill them to the next size. I'm pretty sure I have a couple nice drill bits, just a pain in the balls. Miswell get a 12pk budlight cans.

I'd just make them do it. They fucked it up. If they fuck them up worse then you get new heads

would first try use a little bit of a longer bolt

after taking it back to the dealer and make them aware of their fuck up... make sure when you go in and talk to the service advisor that he gets you the service manager...

I will try the longer bolt idea in the morning, thanks alot. I sent the Mits dealer a nasty little message today. I understand people make mistakes ect...but this clearly wasn't a mistake.

Helicoiled the 2 bolts today, also put a new upper intake gasket and rear valve cover gasket in. Alos drilled out that broken bolt and cleaned up the intake alot. $40 dollars for a fucking Helicoil kit. It's nice to have a $400 dollar punch and die set, thank you lady friend!

Did you bring any of this to the attention of the dealership? You may have been able to get them to agree to pay for the parts so you could have someone else do the work, with someone else in this case being you.

I actually talked to a manager today and he is going to pay me for the parts, he also gave me 2 free oil changes. He was really nice about it.

That's some good news. Although if they can't properly torque a bolt I would almost feel inclined to ask for the oil change parts and do it myself.

My buddy took his GT into the dealership the other day because the oil light was on but there was plenty in the engine and the dealership just did the 120k. They told him it would go away (why he believed them?) , that it was the lifters and not the rods knocking. Guess what happened 15 minutes down the road?
