ok first let me start off by saying the 93 engine was free and my 92 engine is dead so i need a new motor end of story. Also i no longer have my 92 ecu or CAS so simply converting the 93 motor is not possible either. What i want to know is if i need to actually pull my 92 harness or if i can just change the pin-outs and convert my existing harness with out actually pulling it out. Anyone with information on this please let me know, i'm picking up the motor tomorrow, it comes with the ecu wire harness and long block which is all that is bad on my car. For times sake lets agree that salvaging the 92 is no longer possible and that the swap is necessary i'd like to avoid talk on how to repair my 92 block while i am going to try and do that, thats not happening now. any help or advice would be much appreciated. Anyone in the middle TN area wanting to help out or observe, send me a PM.

It would of been easier if you kept the '92 ECU. Does the new ecu plug into your harness or haven't you tried? I'm interested as to what you may have to do as I've never done this either. Only really messed with my vr4. So I know shit.

more on the situation, i traded my 92 ECU, CAS, Coil packs, and TR unit, for 93 ECU, CAS, coil packs, and TR unit, also i am getting a 93 long block free and 93 wire harness free. I know i could have converted the 93 long block to a 92, but with out trading that ECU i couldn't have afforded the long block.

93 was not CAS, had cam and crank sensor, so if you got a CAS unit I have no clue what you got going on

sorry just meant it to show that i'm getting everything that i traded away and more back.

So I'm assuming this should work by just plugging in the '93 ecu? Or won't the harness and ecu matchup?

i'm not sure if the plugs are the same or not, also as xwire said there is no CAS but a crank pickup and and a cam position sensor. After looking at the plugs on the motor though i'm starting to think i really am going to have to swap the harness.
