I was wondering if the NGK IX iridium plugs are any good? I have basic modifications (nothing internal). I see the heat range is 6 and was wondering if its gonna hurt anything.

Buy these:

NGK-4644

They are an NGK V-power copper spark plug. They work great and cost much less than an irridium, which have been known to be termpermental with these cars.

I'm with stupid.

I've run both sets, the iridium plugs were incredibly temperamental. The coppers to date have been install and forget (at least until they wear out)

For a turbocharged application, I hear the coppers are the way to go. They work well and are relatively cheap. On my base model 3000GT I'm running NGK platinums. They're pretty pricey, but I won't have to go through the task of changing them for a while.

Pretty sure I put platinums in my car. Never had an issue. I get a discount so I went with them.

Discount is good! I think I paid about $8 each for mine. The dude at Advance Auto where I bought them from tried to sell me some Autolites. I wasn't having any of that though.

What kind of numbnuts was that guy? I have Autolites in my Eclipse right now only because my previous ones went bad on a road trip and the only thing open at 3 am was a Walmart. They work, but I doubt they'd work well in the vr4

I've been witness to a dude working at one of my local parts store not knowing the difference between a head and a header. The customer asked for head gaskets and bolts and the guy came back with a header kit. "but it has bolts and gaskets" he said to his manager.
