or the rednecks in pickup trucks will TRY to catch you. problem is the fucking things are so damn slow, it's really not a challenge i am happy that a national 3/s gathering is here in Memphis though thats only like 3 hours away.

So....what exactly is sandboxing?

So....what exactly is sandboxing?

programmers use the term sand box as a test site, in this case the main thread is the laboratory or sig tests. So i went to a safe place to test my sig so i went to a sand box.

So I guess you don't want to hear that Memphis was only a 5hr drive from STL.

confused, why would i not want to hear that? that makes it roughly 8 hours for me to get there if something cool was going on. And for some reason there seem to be a lot of you in STL.

ya know,,, as good as ng was (last year),,, and as many of us as there are in stl,,, wtf aren't we organizing our own event HERE???
Dyno access for a dyno day, Gateway to barge in on a porsche or bmw event,wtf...
We just need to schedule the damn styff close together and make it happen!!!
we could even barge into the boeing autocross for 20 a car...
all we need to do is enquire about the other events and PLAN IT OUT.
screw all that wasted time driving.:dancer:
anyone wonder what i really think???

Tell us how you really feel.:jerry:

Renting out gateway for just the STL group would be a lot.... but we could prob get a lot of people to come, or even open it up to the public. (make money from it)

I'm in for busting in on some summer meets, just give me like a month advanced notice and i'll be there. I dont know that i'll have a TT ready till summer though so if you plan some before then i'll just have to be there with you all in spirit.

my point was plan for next summer. plan around week of someone elses track rental an squeeze in. plan dyno daz around it as well... could even bust into a test n tune time just for grins....
track rental is no longer an optiion due to previous years bad experiences at gateway... we could easily combine with another group, maybe even dsm!!!

or we could just drive for hours to another state in trucks an trailers and use lots of vacation time and doll hairs for gas and follow another group...:jerry:

;ets talk about stl spirit:D

NG10 was going to be in STL until a local Indy guy finally got the track to play nice with Alan and Lori, so I think Gateway has forgiven the group. However with some prodding I think we can push to have NG11 in St. Louis provided we do a little marketing for the city. We just need to submit some info to the NG commitee giving them ideas for hotel locations, car show locations, and local attractions for people. Basically we need to show them the cool stuff that we know about and that they may not find on the tourist info sites.

But to your point Larry I think we could definately organize a Missouri meet and maybe a tri-state meet in STL provided some people sat down and did the planning and then did the marketing on 3si for it.

May would be a bad idea as the other NG is in June/July, the chances of getting a large number of people or sponsors to go to/sponsor two of the same type of NG would be really difficult, our other option would be to to make it some other time of the year. The standard 6 month flip would be cool if it wasn't around Christmas, so that leaves us with mid February and early October as those tend to be the months after money has been paid off, and before ppl start spending a whole lot respectively. The other benefit is we may be able to work something out with the Memphis NG that we'll let them advertise for free at our NG if they let us advertise at theres for free. This helps us more than them, but if we make it far enough away both in distance and in time(months apart) they may be willing. I think if we really want to get serious about a NG or even a RG we need to start by creating a new thread and discussing different locations. I know you guys were thinking of STL as a location but i ask that you guys at least consider other locations.

I've got to go pick up my mother from the airport but when i get back i'm willing to TRY and lead an investigation committee to discuss the possibility for us to host a NG or RG.

If STL3S really is planning on growing and organizing more events and shows and stuff like that then el preidente or madam vice president should really appoint an ''event coordinator'' or something!

(edit) I nominate.........................LARRY and LEVI!!!!!

DEATHMATCH FOR THE WINNER!!!

Don't want the job. I would be happy to sit down as part of a committee to brainstorm some ideas but coordinating something like this takes more time than I have to spare right now.

If we did plan something it would never be a National Gathering, however it could be Mid-West Gathering. And everything Larry brought up would be doable on a small scale. Talking to the local Porsche Club or BMW club wouldn't be tough and I think they would be more than happy to bring more cars in to split track day costs. Not to mention that a road rally of sorts could be part of the agenda. It's easy to nab group deals at hotels in the surrounding area with less than 50 people.
