So here's my problem. I got this kit from a local car audio install place. It doesn't exactly work the way I want. The stereo is fine but the pocket is alittle small. I have a HKS turbo timer and a Greddy Profec B spec 2. The greddy is 3 1/8 inch wide and the HKS is 3 inches wide. The pocket I have is only 6 inches wide. See pic for ugliness. Can anyone recommend a kit that will work for me?

Are the Metra kits any good. Or is Scosche(sp) just fine?

haha, so I'm not the only one that used black plexiglass. It really does give it a nice clean install.

The scosche kit is alot nicer than the Metra one, the Metra uses a plastic piece around the outside, where as the Scosche uses metal. The Metra is good, but the Scosche is better.

So I guess you just kind of make yourself a hole to put things in with the bottom plate?

The other option would be to space the two pieces side by side and make a flat plate that would sit in the pocket. You will have to cut special holes for what ever you do if you don't want any gap around the turbo timer and boost controller. Using the pocket you already purchased will just prevent you from completely fabricating a new mounting plate yourself.

Here is what I did for my buddies eclipse:

I cut a slot into the bottom of the pocket all the way across
Mounted the turbo timer and boost controller to the top of the pocket via velcro.
Cut a piece of 0.25" abs (any flat material will work though) to slide into the pocket up from the bottom, throught the slot I cut, until it touched the bottom of the turbo timer and boost controller.
Marked the abs sheet so that it would fit around the two units completely
Removed the sheet and notched it for the two units as well as trimmed the sheet so there was no longer any excess abs sheet extending below the pocket l
Wrapped the abs with velcro(the fuzzy side)
Re-installed the covered abs plate and hot glued into place.

This trimmed out his pocket so that you didn't see any gap. It was simple and looks good. Making a custom plate might be easier if you have the right tools, otherwise piggybacking on the aftermarket pocket will ensure clean edges for you.

I suck when it comes to fabricating. That's why I was wondering if there was anything out there already.

You can try this, it will require very little fabbing and the notching should provide the extra 1/8" clearance you need to stack them side by side.

I just used a dremmel tool using a cutting bit to cut the hole. Be very careful though, when you cut it the plastic becomes very fragile.

Well once I find the kit on Crutchfield's site, I'll get it.

Well like a dumbass I got the Metra kit because it was available locally. I kind of wanted to get the project out of the way. Tried cutting the blank plate to fit the EBC and turbo timer. Screwed it up so I got creative and used pieces from the kit I didn't need to make it work. I needed something for the electronics to sit on so they wouldn't fall into the hole. Made a shelf out of a couple of the plastic pieces and used the plastic trim piece as a backplate so the electronics wouldn't move backwards. I'll have to take a pic, but I got it done and it turned out okay.
