(its been about 2 years :P) last i recall the was a very loud head tick such as a broken valve or head.
Overall i remember there were no cel's and no loss of power but this insanley loud tick that moved (sounder faster) with the rpm. what do you guys think it could be?
Thanks, Ryan

If it's a ticking, then might be a rod or a lifter. If it's a knock, then it's a head. In fact, now that I recall it. I have a similar problem. In the cold mornings, I will hear a loud ticking that corresponds with the rpm. But as the car warms up, it goes away.

if it goes away when it warms up it's most likely lifter tick, if it's constant it could be lifter tick, colapsed lifter, bearings, try to find out where the sound is coming from, take a long screwdriver, put it on different places on the engine and put your ear up to it to find out where it's loudest

This morning however, no ticking. I'm going to have to keep a record of how frequent the ticking is. But I'll try that.

if the ticking is not constant it's gonna be lifter tick most of the time, can be caused by a number of things, low oil press, air bubbles in the oil which will go away shortly after start up, age, I bet at least half of the owners on here experience it, the best way to fix it is to put in 99 lifters, but i wouldn't waste your money, it's mostly an annoyance issue
