about a week ago I started my car with the remote start and it would not start so i jump in the car and it starts but is clearly misfiring? I run to autozone and ran the code it came up misfire in cylender 1. I change the plug and wire better but still misfireing when wants to? I change coil pack same thing? I took out plugs again today and the plug seems like it has fired but has very little signs of fireing ? ICM ???????????

I am not sure of problem but any help would be great!

Check ECU for leaky caps...this happened to me once, and that was the cause

ECU as has been said, injector (easy to check just swap with another cylinder to see if you can move the miss), PTU (as you stated ignition control module), mechanical (low compression, would be the last thing I checked, I find the injectors like to die on these more often then not)

I will check ECU today and go from there? Its a very intermitent problem, I scoped the injector and is ticking away, I also doubt low compresion seeing I only have 60k original miles on my car and was babied. You guys are awsome with responces and I will post after I check ECU. I wish I had some one closer to swap parts to find prob more easly?

ticking does not mean the injector is working, have seen several tick but not fully open or have clogged nozzle

I took ECU out today not only was it good it has been upgraded so the old man whom sold me the car either had probs or had it upgraded on his own?

Now the injector seems to be oporating fine meaning under steathascope its working.

Should I buy a trigger or go to Mits and have dignosed? That is the question?
Have I ruled out all other culprits of such a problem, I am not shure.

By looking at spark plug it either looks like week spark or spark that sparks when it wants witch would lead to trigger cause the ICM changes under load and temp conditions and could give week spark or no spark depending on conditions?

Not shure but at least its not ecu!

True on injectors ticking does not mean full oporation at all. BY the way your car looks amazing!!!!!!!!!!1

you are seeing it triggered but is it actually opening (you see it spraying fuel?) that is why I swap them (say swap #1 to #3 both on the front bank) and see if I can move the miss

I am in the proccess of trying to find and buy a used injector from some one whom may have one instead of swapping? I use to be a DSM man via Eclipse for years then I went 98 240sx back to 3000GT witch is were I wanted to be any way, so I know of some people but mostly eclipse?

I got a hold of a couple of people and waiting for responces?

DO NOT start throwing parts at it, it is easier and better to try swapping them first that way you know it was a bad in injector and are not replacing parts that you do not know have failed

advice every one needs to take, parts shotguns just end up leaving you with less money and bigger headaches
