Well, my damn fuel pump went out on Wednesday morning. I didn't know that was the problem until I called Del @ Speed Factory. Anyways, I replaced it last night but still no joy. I can't figure out what is wrong. It turns over well enough and I am getting spark.

Any ideas?

Well, I reset my ECU and MAS but still no joy. My battery is dying so I will probably get it towed over to the shop. I hate not being able to figure this stuff out.

It sounds like it might be your alternator or bad wires. The wires wouldn't drain your battery though.

Check your fuses, both under the dash and under the hood. If you don't find your problem make sure that the pump begins pressurizing when you turn the key to on.

Actually, the battery was drained because I kept trying to turn the engine over. Still no joy. I am towing it in to my shop today. AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH.

Richy, did you ever get that new pump in? Haven't heard any updates on 3SI...

PS: some one is flaming you in the Inferno section, he he he...

PSS: I added an avitar, but it's not showing up. Do I have to have a certain # of posts for it to show? Thanks!

No, you should be able to pop it up right away.

Yes, I did get my pump in, but it still won't go. It is energizing but for some reason, I still don't think any fuel is getting to the engine. I will have somebody look at it today or tomorrow. Pisses me off.

Sorry to hear about the car. Hope it's back on the road soon. Oh, figured out the Avi thing ;)

Well, I did get my car running last night. My mechanic came over and did a quick troubleshoot.

Turns out that
A: Fuel Pump died
B: Idler/Tensioner pulley was a tad loose
C: Timing was off by two teeth

I guess when my fuel pump went out and I kept swinging the motor it caused one of my cams to jump two teeth. Don't ask me how this happened but I am sure it also had something to do with the pulley being loose.

We were working on the car up until 11:30pm trying to get the timing readjusted. Success. Now I just need to take it to the shop to get an impact wrench to tighten up the crank and I am back in bidness.

What an awesome mechanic I have to take his time out after work and fix my car up until the late hours.

If you are in El Paso and need a great mechanic who bends over backwards for you, call Del at (915)595-0000. He works at a place called Speed Factory. Just bypass Rich, his partner, and go straight to Del. Awesome guy. :)
