Question about NA fuel pumps

Mornin',

Posted this on 3SI as well but I doubt the NA section there gets much attention at all.. Please excuse my ignorance here but this is what I need to know:

My SOHC beater's fuel pump died (along with the tank leaking like a sieve) and from what I understand the DOHC fuel pump is the same but has different relays. So the pump itself should work. However, I just talked to the guy fixing the car and I need a fuel pump "sending unit"? What is this and is it the same on DOHC and SOHC?

Jeremy_C was kind enough on this ignorant soul (man I wish I knew as much about cars as I do about computers...) the info I needed. Sounds like I should be good to go and car should be back on the road tomorrow I hope! Weeeh.. getting damn cold to ride the bike..
