Hey all! Just want to say whats up to everyone. Well I am new here and fairly new on on 3si(July 02) but i have been "lurking" around the 3si forums forever. I love reading all the different posts. I see alot of you from the 3si forum and kind of follow you guys around. I really like Richy T's car and Hollywoods car. You guys have some serious mods and I am thinkin of going that route. Any tech tips on that would be great:) Hope to get know all of you better.

Thanks for the comps on my car also. It's had a lot of work done to it and the last thing I can think of now is probably a 50-75 shot of N02.

Hey guys, thanks for the responses. Well first off I am from Rockford IL (about 85 miles west of Chicago), I assume that is what you meant from where I "hail" from Richy.:D Well you guys said ask away, so i will. Well for starters, Richy with all the internal engine work you have done, how does the car pull like what kind of HP are you making or any 1/4 mile times? I plan on having a mechanic/friend rebuild my engine but he is not real familiar with our cars. He has built up many V8's but no imports. He thinks it wouldnt be too much different. Should i trust my car to him? Is all motor a good route to go to hit mid 13's? I dont really want to go forced induction of any kind, i just want to make my car a little faster and it needs a rebuild anyways. Any thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated.

yeah...I will admit I am a bit of a lurker.:D I dont ask too many questions because most have been answered on 3si somewhere and i dont want to get flamed for being a dumb newbie:) Gotta say that I really am liking this board so far. Keep up the good work guys!

I don't know if I could ever trust just anyone with my car but after looking at Richards, its not like the VR4 with all the vacuum tubes. Looks much more simple. I don't think it would be that bad. You just need to get the specs.

Good luck modding! Hope you have enough money to make that thing move.. as I'm sure you've already read it's not very feasible getting a dohc n/a into the 13s without some serious funds... unless you're at a relatively low elevation with some nitrous and a good driver.

No, not yet. I am still debating on rebuilding the engine and doing internal work or just sell it now and get a first generation VR4. I am goin away to school in August, so money will be a bit tight. As of right now I am just kind of holding tight and enjoying my car for what it is.

get a stock engine in it for now. Don't mod until you get out of school and have a nice daily driver. Modding gets expensive and you break something new all the time. Keep it simple right now and learn all you can about the car. Much cheaper.

If it comes down where I have to rebuild the engine (due to rod knock or anything else major), would boring it over, adding cams and gears, port matched intake, etc. cause the car to become less reliable? Modding gets expensive and you break something new all the time. Besides internal work being expensive, would things be prone to breaking down more?

The thing is to get the job done right the first time most shops tend to make mistakes so the ideal thing to do is take it to a 3s tuner that knows what the hell they are doing.

i totally agree lurker the dodge dealership in town has been very very very frustrating. no one there has ever worked on a stealth except mine. is it tough finding a specialist in a certain area i mean if i call a dealer they will say suuuuure we can fix stealths.

btw welcome ironfish hehe. you know these cars are very expensive even if you arent doing mods, like if something breaks down which it certainly will, dodge and mit. practically rape you with how much they charge for parts. i have a 2002 hyundai elantra also and the warranty on those cars is awesome it costed me 11,200 brand new why not just go economy while your in school.

Thanks last in line for the welcome. Oh I know repairs are a bitch, I have had the car for 18 months and have only put 9500 miles on it. Its my daily driver too, its been in at the dealer so much. I totaly know all the pain involved in repairs. I would love to take it to a 3S tuner (like 3sx or Dynamic Racing) but they are just too far. As for owning an economy car, i used to have an 86 cavalier for the longest time and it got the job done but i wanted a little more style and my parents wont let me have two cars. So despite all the problems i have had with my car i still love the looks i get and wouldnt trade it for anything...except maybe a VR4;)
