The good:
----------
Silverstars are BRIGHT. No doubt about it, I have yet to see a pair of headlights that bright without going to true HIDs. Rain visibility is good, and the high beams cut through the darkest of nights. For beam quality out of a halogen, the Silverstar cannot be beat.

The bad & the Ugly:
-------------------
The Silverstars have no durability. I got between 9 months and a year out of each of 3 pair...given the $25-$30 pricetag per bulb, it comes out to between $5 and $6.67 a month to keep them on the car. Personally, it's just not worth it. Your view may vary.

Needless to say, I'm none too satisfied. They were nice while they lasted, but I'm going to try a different 'line' of bulbs.

I'm just wondering if you've got a wiring or possibly a voltage problem??? I've had Silverstars in my 92TT for over two years now with no problems. I took out some 130/100 watt H4's that had been installed as they were melting the harness and wiring. I thought I would be giving up massive light intensity and quality when switching but I was amazed at how bright the Silverstars were even compared to a bulb with twice the wattage. I will use these bulbs in whatever vehicle I purchase that they make a version that will fit. Sorry you're having problems with them.

I have had them in my wifes van for 3 years now... But did blow one in my GA...

Main thing is do not touch them. You touch it they will not last long.

Exactly. The oils from your hands will ruin them prematurely.

Put them in my Accord head lights at fog lights. Fog lights are still going strong but a 2 weeks later 1 silverstar burned out.

I would like to change my vote on these from good to bad, so I'm in MN for the weekend, decide to go out and race my buddy in his WRX, coming back to my house, all of a sudden I see a car pull up behind me and then the cherries and berries come on, cop tells me that one of my headlights is out, this one I've had for about 10 months, I'll be replacing it with a different brand now, any suggestions from anyone?

I switched off to the 'high power' or 'double lumen' or whatever the @!#!@# they call it (same brand), and they've been doing me well since. Just as good as the Silverstars when it's dry, and much better in the rain.
