I'm excited to annouce the seventh annual Upper Midwest 3/S Gathering, happening May 19-21, 2006, in sunny Wisconsin Dells, WI.
Wisconsin Dells is nestled about halfway between Minneapolis and Chicago. About a three hour drive from both. The Dells is a tourist area filled with water parks, hotels, go-karts, restaurants and other attractions. On the weekend of the Upper Midwest Gathering there is also a huge car show in town. So the whole weekend there are sweet muscle cars and other classics running around town. Its a car ethusiast's dream.
The Upper Midwest Gathering has evolved into the third largest 3/S gathering in the country, only behind the NG and East Coast Gathering. Last year we had 51 3/Ses there and 65 owners!! It was a great turnout and I'm confident we'll beat those numbers this year.
Complete details about the UMG can be found on this page: http://www.mn3s.org/upper-midwest06.html On that page there is also a link to sign up for the event. There is no cost to sign up. The sign up page is at: http://mn3s.zforcenetwork.com/list/?p=subscribe&id=3 I'll also be creating a page with the list of sign-ups and periodiclly post on the sign-up numbers.
I really would encourage all 3/S enthusiasts within driving distance to make it out to the UMG. Its three days of jammed pack 3/S fun!! Its also very affordable. You pay for your hotel and other expenses and thats it. A couple of hundred dollars and you'll have a great 3/S weekend.
I hope to see you all there,
Curt

Looks to be about 400 miles from St. Louis. The good thing is its a straight shot along the interstate.
Hope you St. Louis guys can make it. I know you'll have a good time.

The dells is freakin awesome. very nice place. the gathering is also fun as hell.
There is a great cruise sunday through some awsome backroads.
A large hot rod festival that knows nothing of the 3/S cars...
amusement parks, go karts, waterslides, blah blah blah.
And I'll be there. :smiles:
wait, should I have mentioned that last part...

Hey everyone,
If you are planning on coming to the Upper Midwest Gathering, take a minute and sign up at:

Hey everyone,
We've had a lot of sign-ups in the last week. We are now up to 33 people signed up. Here is the updated list: http://www.mn3s.org/upper-midwest-list.html
I could also use some help advertising the UMG. If you'd like to help out by adding our banner to your signature on all the messageboards out there, that would help out a lot. Here is the code you'd need to add to your signature:
[img]http://www.mn3s.org/umg-banner2006.jpg[/img}[/url}
You'll have to replace the two "}" with "]" (they are at the end of the code)
Thanks,
Curt

Thats awesome guys. Its pretty much a straight shot up the interstate for you, so the drive will go fast.
If you have any questions about the UMG, let me know. Otherwise, you can get a lot of info from looking at the stuff from year's past. All of the info is on the main page.

I see. You must be closer to the drag strip then too. I'm really jealous of your track set up there in St. Louis. The two closest 1/4 mile tracks to Minneapolis are both 120 miles away. One sucks really bad and has earned its nickname as "slippery rock" and the other one is on the verge of closing. :(
So it looks like we have three signed up from St. Louie then. Kewl Beans!!

Hey everyone,
I haven't made any updates for a couple of weeks. I did update the sign-up list. We are up to 63 now. woo-hoo! See: http://www.mn3s.org/upper-midwest-list.html
Of course since Minnesota has gotten two feet of snow this week its getting hard to be pumped up for Spring.
Don't forget to make your hotel arrangements soon. I know Baker's is gonna get close to sold out by the time the UMG is here.

Hey everyone,
I called the hotel today. Looks like we have 21 rooms reserved for our group. Thats awesome so far! But there are only about 10 rooms left in the main building. So if you want one of the cheaper rooms, you better make your reservations now. I can almost guaranteed those rooms are gonna get gobbled up in the next couple of weeks.
There are still a fair number of rooms left in some of the other buildings, but those are the bigger units with bedrooms and living rooms with pull out coaches. Those bigger units are more like $100 to $120 a night.
So, right now we have 66 people signed up for the UMG and 21 rooms booked at the hotel. Its looking real good!

Hey everyone,
I'm leaving in the morning for Wisconsin Dells. So consider this the last shout out for the UMG. The weather is looking fantastic for this weekend.
Here are a few reminders for things to bring:
1) Bring an FRS radio if you have one. We'll be using channel 7 all weekend.
2) Bring sunscreen if you burn easily.
3) Bring a lawn chair or two for the Saturday night cookout.
4) Print off the schedule: http://www.mn3s.org/schedule.html
5) Print off the map: http://www.mn3s.org/wisconsin-dells.html (some things are out to date, but close enough)
6) Don't forget your car cleaning supplies.
And if, per chance, the website goes down like it did two years ago, I've got the back-up in place at:
http://home.earthlink.net/~curtgendron/data/upper-midwest06.html
See ya in the Dells,
Curt

Hey everyone,
I got back from Wisconsin Dells last night. What a fun weekend. We had 42 3/Ses and 51 owners. The numbers were down from last year, but it was still a good time. Thanks to everyone who showed there 3/S spirit and made the trip. We had a few sprinkles on Saturday night but otherwise we had pretty good weather.
We had a huge rural cruise on Sunday. I think it was 32 3/Ses and 5 other cars on the cruise. Thats including the 12hp 3000GT that was pushed a 1/2 mile down the road to the park. ;)
I'll have my pictures up in the next day or two. I'm just too tired right now to do it.
Thanks again,
Curt
