What are your methods for shifting as quickly as possible without losing too much speed?
This is an area I really need to work on and any suggestions would be very helpful.

I've proven that a transmission is not even needed. My car is the king of "sitting in a shop"

I don't think there's really a technique to shift fast you either do it or don't. The faster you can hit that clutch and let off that gas throw it in gear and let go of the clutch and slam on the gas the faster you will shift simple as that.

I don't know about you being the "king of sitting in a shop" detpac......I just got my car back and it has been sitting in the mitsubishi shop since June 12, 2002. :)

Mine sat from Dec. 28th 2001 thru Aug. 5, 2002 then Aug 20, 2002 thru Sep 20; then Oct 2 thru Oct 28; then Dec 10 thru Dec 24; then Jan 20 thru right now 2/22/03

Spped shifting, ie. never lift is when you shift it. Don't mistake this for not using the clutch, or power shifting.
