I'm selling my father's car, after much deliberation. He bought it two years old with 10k mi, and we've both loved it since. It's bone stock, and we'd keep it that way for many more years if we had the space, money and time to give that it requires. My dad's interests lie with his '66 MG B and his Corvette, and I spend the little time and cash I have on my motorcycle. I'm hoping to find a like-minded enthusiast who will appreciate this car - it's difficult to part with, and I know I'll regret it.

Miles are high (around 180k), but it has been properly maintained, with records to prove it. The first two 60k services were on time, and it's due for one now. The transmission was replaced quite a while ago (I'll check the records), and the second clutch was replaced at around 160k. It could use new front rotors, and I have a NOS pair waiting to be installed. It has been sitting outside for a while, so it has some trim cracking, but aside from other areas of standard wear - driver's seat bolster, steering wheel rim, top dash vents - it's in very good shape. Oil changes were religiously on time, always with synthetic. The turbos have always been cooled properly. I can guarantee that it has never been seriously (clutch-drop) drag raced.

It's green and tan, for what it's worth. I have pictures, but I'm new enough to this forum that I don't know how to post them. Email akcarlson@gmail.com for pictures and questions. I'm happy to answer any and all questions, and I will be happy to schedule a viewing and test drive for serious buyers. I prefer not to take up my time with tire kickers, so please only contact me if you're shopping.

We both know what this car is worth, so bring your fair offers.

is that a typo with the mileage? 10k miles two years ago and 180k miles now? that's 170k miles in two years...just checking.

if it's not a typo, it's fairly safe to assume that those are all highway miles LOL...that's a good thing

Exactly right, Gaijan. Thanks for clearing that up.

Keith, you seem to be a respected member of the local community. If you happen to be in Eureka/Pacific area where my dad lives in the near future and you're willing to check the car out, I'd appreciate it if you'd vouch for me. I'm sure your word means more than mine around here.

Also, if there are any local events coming soon, I would be happy to bring the Stealth out to them so that potential buyers could see it more conveniently. I'm really trying to avoid just throwing this car on eBay or AutoTrader to the unwashed masses, who will almost certainly abuse it inappropriately (as opposed to the congnoscenti here, who will abuse it in an appropriate manner). It's a rough situation: I don't want to sell it, but we really can't hold on to it. I'll feel better about the whole thing if it goes to someone who'll appreciate it.

And thanks to all for not flaming me as a spamming first post noob. I appreciate the respect and level of maturity on this forum as opposed to...others.

do you have a ballpark range of what you'd like to sell for?

The NADA value for this car in average condition is about $5k. Average is about right: it has been properly maintained throughout its life, and has never required any unforseen maintenance aside from a gearbox/transmission/bellhousing replacement under warranty at 63k miles. It's an honest driver. It's not perfect, but it's in better-than-average condition for its age and miles.

I'll be posting the car on eBay very soon - hopefully within the week. When I do, I'll post a link here unless that violates the rules. If anyone from these boards, or any other local 3/S folks, show interest, I'll still entertain local offers. I'm not trying to go over the head of the local community, but I've got to cast a wider net if I want sell this car. Please disseminate this information to anyone you know who may be interested. I'm more than happy to show the car to any serious shopper. For a prompt response, email akcarlson@gmail.com

Thanks again to all for interest and patience with a spamming noob.

Here is the eBay auction link. I've started bidding at $3500 with no reserve. I'm happy to take more pictures, though the car is fair distance from my home, so it may take me a day to fill the requests. Of course, don't hesitate to email akcarlson@gmail.com to set up an appointment with me or my father to view the car in person.

Good luck with the auction. The car looks great! Some pics of the engine bay and interior would probably help with the auction though. Just my opinion.

Wish I had an extra $5k lying around not doing anything. If anyone wants to buy the car for me, we can work it out in trade... my wife's not that bad looking......

Jason, I guess?

Sorry our paths didn't cross until yesterday. I knew you'd been by my folks' house, but I didn't know how to contact you. You called literally minutes after I found out the auction had ended with Buy It Now. Unfortunately, it looks quite likely that the buyer is going to back out. I'm giving her one last chance, even after she violated two of the stipulations in the auction. If I don't have a definintive answer from her by 10 A.M. tomorrow, the car is officially for sale again. In that liklihood, I'll give you a call so we can arrange a time to meet out in Eureka this weekend - perhaps Sunday?

I'll talk to you tomorrow to set somthing up.

Thanks again for your patience and persistance - looks like it might end up paying off for you.

Alex
