2.5" is good. In my opinion; 3" is better.

My car has a 3" Borla cat-back and let's just say people definitely know when I'm coming, and when I'm in public places it gets quite a few stares, to say the least.

Don't do an H-Pipe. Run a Y-pipe right before the gas tank.

It's a bitch to get around the gas tank.

It probably will be...but I don't see how it'll be a problem for a good exhaust shop to do it.

If you want; I'll take a picture to show how Borla made my Y-pipe before the gas tank so it's easier for you to explain to the exhaust shop.

will you please so i know exactly what to tell them and give them somthing to show. do all 3000/Stealths use a y- pipe???

I went with a 3 inch single shot (and glassed in the extra bumper cut) Its loud as hell, gets a lot of attention, and people who know the 3S think its an RT, not an RT/TT.... at least until the BOV pops!

:rolley:

Sure, I'll do it tommorrow when I get home from school when there's enough light to take a picture. Not ALL 3/S cars use Y-pipes. All 3000GTs use a dual exhaust/4 tip system. It's not a Y-pipe, it's more of a T-pipe right before the gas tank.

I believe the Stealth ES model uses a single exhaust and exhaust tip.

I believe the Stealth ES model uses a single exhaust and exhaust tip.The Stealth RT Non-Turbo has a single pair of tips on the Drivers side

So do you recomend the y pipe or stay w/ a T?? i want the one that will give me the best perfprmance.

Will they work the same?? i just dont want it to sound like rice I mean i drive an N/A so would that even make a difference?. please help

Dual exhaust or not, the TT is not a true dual.

Are you telling me its better to go single exhaust then dual??

A single out will have less disruption on the flow of the exhaust...

Mine seemed to choke when it was only single exhaust. And mine doesn't sound rice and I have ebay mufflers.

Y-pipe for sure. It's less constricting.

the N/A isn't a true dual either. Looks kinda ugly when its cold and you can only see the exhust come out of the right side =/. A true dual exhust has the 2 pipes from the rear extend all the way to the engine. right?

Yes a y-pipe is less constricting but if i were to go single out wouldnt i get more power?? i mean the 3/s isnt a true dual its just a T. So if i singled out a 2.5inch would i have enough back pressure for tourque and enough HP to keep me at a high speed?? i know 3inch will give me more higher rpm hourses but will it give me neough torque off the line??

OK

Y-pipe is less constricting, correct.

A single out will probably give you BARELY any more WHP/flywheel HP. IMO; a dual exit system looks awesome. The debate on backpressure being existant/non-existant will always be that; a debate. You'll notice 3" pulling harder at higher RPMs, but god does it pull hard and scream compared to stock.

Let's put it this way. With the mods in my sig, first gear is useless in my car. Tire spin and wheel hop all the way through, even from a roll it's all wheel hop.

You will barely notice the change in terms of power.
