Check to see if the Timing Belt has been replaced. (Indication of 60 K service). If it still has the Mitsu symbol on it and looks cruddy it is probabbly the original one.

If a car was in an accident and stuff internally was replaced, would you still consider buying it with low miles?

If its a turbo model, check for the dreaded driveline clunk while taking off and between shifts. Also listen for the turbo death whine...it'll sound like a fire truck siren.

I believe he would be talking about the carrier(sp?) bearings in the drive shaft that let the shaft go back and forth more than it should. If you bring it to a stealership they will tell you that it needs a new drive shaft, as it is an "Assembly" which costs 1000 bucks give or take. I reality you can get the carrier bearings and put them in for about 70~85 bucks...
mine does it a bit, but it hasn't annoyed me enough to change them...
BTW. Way to rob the thread grave! :boobs:

On one hand, it's nice to see people using the search button. On the other, zombie jokes are funny.

haha that is true. I've seen crazyier grave digging tho, bout a month ago a thread got brought back that was from 4 or 5 diffrent time periods.
As for the clunk could they also be talking about the output shaft? doesn't that make a clunk sound when it skips splines? I've heard that to be more common then carrier berrings, could be wrong tho. i had a nasty clunk, turned out to be a missing bolt on the rear end, funny story...dealerships are dumb (except All American)
