I saw 2 of em at the track last weekend, one of them was running low -mid 14's, the other one mid 12's.

From what the Lightning guys are telling me, these things are VERY hard to hook up. "If" you get a good launch it "should" get you in the mid to high 13's. I tried launching mine today and it side stepped for about 100 yards. A pulley and a chip will get you 12's all day in this thing(Proof is on FLASVT.com):) Granted, you have to know how to drive these things, which I don't yet. I guess we will find out when I get this thing to the track. :D

When are you going? I think the Lightning's are kind of overrated.

I will be going when the weather cools down. It stays pretty damn hot down here in Florida, so I would like to take it to the track when its not 100 degrees out.
Oh, and about it being overrated, if you are close to me here in Fort Lauderdale I will show you how "overrated" it is. That is if your tranny is still running;)
I don't think 13.6 stock is "overrated". But then again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion:DI can see you arent stock. Neither am I, so I think my "overrated" truck would give you a run for your money. That is unless you are running 11's. Then you win:eek: :)

If you remember, that is what Tom Joad drove. It's a truck. And don't you sweat my tranny. That baby is going to last me forever.
I would love to come out there. I actually will be heading out there this November. How about we hook up and I will prove to you how overated you hick mobile really is.

damn nice lightning.
those things are quick.
when i had my 99 SS (I used to be a redneck like Griffin, but no longer :D )
I raced a lightning on the interstate from about 50-100, I pulled pretty good on him, but not enough to want to race one in the vr4, unless it is off the line.

I have only seen one lightning down here. It was pulling out of a carwash. Very sharp truck.

Lightnings aren't that strong after about 80mph stock. I have added a bunch of mods already that I am hoping will get me in the high 12's-low 13's. I know I would be able to take a stock VR4. Not to sure about a BPU one though. I think the AWD would kill me...

Off the line for sure

i need to finish getting my car bpu. i have gutted precats, test pipe, K&N
downpipe should be arriving today or tomorrow,
and I have a boost controller, I am just waiting on my aftermarket boost gauge to arrive. My car definitely pulls a lot stronger now with the above, can't wait for more boost and downpipe.
Lightning will definitely take a stock vr4 from any speed, except a dead stop. When my vr4 was stock, I raced a 416hp to rear wheels (on race gas, wasn't on race gas when I raced him) Supra, from redlight to 60, and I had a car length on him. Any other speed, and he rapes me.
