Ok, as some of you know, I will be getting a C5 next month. My question is, should I lease or buy? If I lease, I can get it at a cheaper monthly price. If I buy, it will be mine in five years. I am willing to listen to all suggestions.:D

How much more are you talking about to buy?
I would buy. I think they have limitations for leased cars as far as changing/modding the car. If you buy it, the sky's the limit.:D

I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee on lease. You have to watch your mileage. Anything over the limit is about 25 cents a mile, maybe more. Any damage will be paid by you at the lease's end. In some cases you can't make any modifications. I guess bolt-ons could be replaced, but, you get the idea.
The good thing is when you finish the lease, you get a new car, you have excellent credit, and, well you get a new car!!
Good luck in your decision.

I would have to agree with Dan K. on this. Buying is the only option. I think you will get raped in the end if you lease it. Buy it and you can do anything you want and drive it however much you want.

I would have to say not to lease. If you lease your cant realy mod the car at all. Also as some said before you have mileage limitations which sucks, 25 cents a mile adds up in a hurry. I would say buy it if at all possible. thats my $.02

from my experience- (I also leased a Grand Cherokee).
If you lease with intent to purchase the vehicle at the end of the year or just get a newer one you will be OK.
THE only way you are penalized for your miles is if you just walk away from the dealership when your contract is up.
when your contract is up, you can:
1. keep the car and at that point it will be as if you are purchasing it. Everything you have paid already in the lease contract reduces the amnt of the car.
2. upgrade for the newer model vette (still leasing it).
3. trade your vette in something else on the lot. maybe a Z71 or something
The only way you will have to pay for excess milage is if you decide, you don't want to deal with them anymore.
And if you want to, just buy extra miles when they draw up the lease contract.
Not all lease experiences are horror stories- I heard them all but decided to do it anyway and had no trouble.
Good Luck
