I have no idea yet. Most probably a 95 vr4 though. It depends on if I end up going to court or not. Probably red, though I do want a black one.
What is the problem with the black ones?

Every BLACK Spyder that I know of (with the exception of Jeff Mulligans) suffers from paint problems. The clear coat bubbles and the exposes the black underneath to the elements. Once it starts it spreads like wild fire. Only the Spyder specific parts are effected (Top and Toneau).
My guess is that the heat generated from the black paint absorbing it is what causes the clear coat to bubble. Those of us with either Red, White or Yellow have not seen any sign of this problem.
Black is beautiful, and I too wanted a black one, but Im pretty glad I got the Red now!
Jeff Wong in your state is a classic example of this problem.

Make sure you go there and sign up. Alot of good information is passed around there (most of which comes from JD and I ;) ).
If you have any other ?'s, ask away!!

Wow, I had no idea about that. Is there any way around it?

And its not a cheap job, and Mits or ASC wont foot the bill.
Unless you can get a Black one for $5000 less than a Red or White one, I would not get it.
Even if it doesnt have problems now, it eventually will. (Although I read somewhere that it was bad primer that they used on "some" of the black ones).
Just my .02
Bob.
