Just like the title says..... How many close calls have you guys had with your car (crashing wise)?

Me myself i've had about three really close ones and one actual.
one of them happened while merging onto a local highway; there was a mid-size truck in front of me that accelerated to cross over into traffic (during rush-hour) the truck speeds up to merge but then after he/she merged they slowed down considerable for no apperent reason (to me)..... so when they slowed down i swerved to the left to avoid rear-ending them; after i swerved i ended up with my front right fender about to his/her left rear tire in the next lane to them and then he/she decides to come over into my lane i was in so i swerved a little to the left while simultaneously slamming on brakes which almost caused the person following me to hit me from behind..... and i can see that they weren't really happy about that so i got into the left lane as quick as i could and as far as i could from that group of traffic so nothing would happen again.

Well this is California...several. If only those out of state folks would just reach the speed limit, mabey they wouldnt cause so many pileups. Right where I live is one of the USA's most dangerous intersections, and its true! its the way the streets are designed.

Then there's the good ones. Hotties almost jumping in the car with me at the cruise strip. Damn, close call!

Well, The only one that comes to mind is the one during the first week I owned my '91 SL. I decided to take a date to Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg Tn. I was living in Nashville at the time, so it was a good half day road trip. Heading home, we decided it would be more fun to take a small 2 lane state road back instead of the interstate. Since there was hardly any other cars on the road. That seemed like a good time to see how well my new car could take those hills and curves. I got up to about 80 or so, and it really held the road. So much better then the old, worn out MGB I was so used to driving. With the AC on, and the sound system sounding so clear and relaxing. I inatvertly (sp?) lit up a smoke and took a couple good pulls off it. Not used to having AC, I went to flick my ash out the window like I had done a million times before. but ended up snuffing it into the glass and breaking the cigarette in half, dropping the lit end down in between the seat and door. Just as I freaked about a burn hole or worse, a Lost smouldering butt. I took my eyes off the road for what I hoped would be a quick save. well just then, one of those tight tn. curves was upon me and I locked up the brakes and veared to the left, putting my car into a slide stopping about 6 inches short of the shittyest looking ditch in the middle of nowhere, you ever did see.
