Isn't it a small piece of plastic in the MAF inlet? If so, I think you could put it back if its an issue.
Or, buy a BOV :)

Intake, MAS (thingie with the plug into it), MAF INLET (Thingie in here I believe), left/right air intake lines to turbos

ive heard a LOT of talk of taking this out will make your car run like dogshit...just buy a BOV. if you are just wanting to hear it, buy the BOV "speaker" and plug that baby in...

It depends on the BOV. My GReddy Type S needed an adapter whereas my RFL did not.

I'd say RFL, it's plug-n-play, and it's annoying.
I think OPEN LOOP BOV is not a good choice but whatever you want :)

i wouldnt run an open loop unless you have the proper engine management to control it...just my .02. there are people that have done it successfully like Chris (cddvr4) but most that I have heard of had problems. Chris' car is a freak anyway...that thing is a beast...

I have had my silencer out for a good while now without any problems, you could always put it back in if it ran like crap anyhow. it sounds alot louder, making my inner ricer much happier :p
I tried the open loop thing too and my car ran like ass
if you look inside the intake right after the MAF where it splits it's a little tube thing, it pops right out
here is a picture of mine, I have it sitting on my shelf because I thought it looked kinda neat

Running open BOV on the 3/S is a bad idea. You lose air for quicker boost recover, run rich between shifts, and get worse MPG.

yes, but I had heard some cars can do it, so I tried it to see if I had one, and I didn't

dj auggie how are you running with the rfl? Im assuming you converted to a blow through setup (dejontool?) because your sig doesnt say you have a fmic. The reason im asking is because I wondered why I could hear your bov from the stands at lebenon a few weeks ago and because i have a dejontool y-pipe ready to go in once I get the rfl.

how is the dejon tool y-pipe, I read someone here got really screwed by them, the BOV flange was one the wrong side and there was no wastegate vac line fitting and the overall quality was crap

The RFL is a piece of shit. I can't stand running OPEN LOOP on this car. I had it and sold it for the GReddy Type S.
Also, I got a DEJON Y-Pipe and the quality was horrible. I brought it back. Search 3SI for others who had the same experience. I paid $150 for a DN YPipe. There's absolutely no reason to upgrade the YPIPE if you don't have to. I did because I am running PROPANE and needed a place to tape PRE TB.
My BOV is closed loop and it's loud because I have a lot of air moving from my turbos :D

yea the quality is pretty horrible. I showed it to my friend who has a lot of expierience with welding and he said it looks like a 5 year old did it. I may just sell it because i plan on running propane as well and Im pretty happy with my torquemax y-pipe. One thing i wondered about it was that it looks like it would give you unsteady readings to the maf because it is flat inside where the two intercooler pipes hook up to it. the 200 i spent on that i can almost get a propane kit because theres a couple new kits with ews floatin around the classifieds on 3si for like 300.

It won't give bad readings to the MAF. As the air hits the YPIPE, it's been past the MAF and it's on its way to the cylinders.
