Terminology Index??

I know little on engines/parts and even lesser on TT specific parts. I do a search on things like an ECU, I find a thousand threads on it, but nothing that tells me exactly what ECU means or its specific function (unless I just over looked it)
I know some of these are common on NA and TT cars but exactly what the hell are they?

It'd be a page like a sticky-one that no one could delete or update only admin could. and it would just have .....

IAC or something - what AIC means and what it does
ECU- what ECU means and what it does
and all the other abbreviated parts that I can't recall at this time.
