How do they work? If I turn up my tube all the way right now it kind of distorts my panel speakers and it sounds all crappy. Will the crossovers eliminate this?

yes, but first get bigger speakers a bigger amp and stop listening to 'nsync.

I have an 8" bazooka with built in amp in the trunk, 2 Premeire 6x9's in the back and 2 Premiere 6"s in the front. Dash speakers are stock and I have a 240 watt amp.

Ok, now what?

I don't think you have enough power pushing the other speakers. You can also try a EQ. They will clean up your sounds alot.

does your amp have a built-in crossover? Alos, i do not understand why changing the gain on the tube will affect any other speakers in your system. My gues is you have built-ins on both the amp and the tube and you need set them properly OR turn it down you are maxing out other speakers before the tube does.

BTW, WTF it this supposedto be?

:ass:

Distortion is caused by lack of power to much power, heat, frequencies that specific speakers were not meant to handle etc...

crossovers separate sound frequencies(bass to woofers, treble to tweeters) if you want a good sounding stereo system you have to change the stock speakers the stock cd player and at least one subwoofer in the back. also usually amps have built in crossovers

what do you mean by change? can't you just put a crossover in and plug everything into it?

ya if hes already changed the stock peice of crap speakers and has an amp then he can just connect the crossover to it. but the amp should have a built in crossover usually that is enough also its better to just buy a new cd player then to add amps to a factory cd player because then you have to use speaker level inputs and the sound quality is not as clean. its also a good idea to have amps that have plenty of power even if it is rated higher then the speakers it will be pushing, just dont ever turn the volume up too high to where you hear distortion. you can blow high power speakers with a weak amplifier just like you can with a high powered one

if hes hearing distortion just turn the bass down a little and let the subwoofer handle the low frequencies
