N/A sounding like a TT BOV

Well the other day I was playing around with my car and I disconected my MAS from my air box and started it up. When I mashed on the gas and let off it sounded like a BOV, I thought it was really awesome but I was kind of frustrated because I had to hook everything back up and I knew it wouldnt sound like that again, but to my suprise I started it up tonight and it sounds just the same so I have an N/A that sounds like a TT. Any ideas as to why it is doing that, but dont get me wrong I dont want to get rid of it:D, make people think I have a turbo when I really dont;)

Yeah thats what I am thinking now but before it only happend when I disconected my MAS from my airbox, o well, I will figure it out sometime.

I have the exact same thing that happens to my car. There is no vacuum leak. I get that sweet pffffftttt sound when I go WOT to redline and then shift. Right at the moment I shift is when the pffffffttttt hits. What it is is excess air buit up in the throttle body and when you release the gas a bit, the butterflies in the TB and plenum close out a bit forcing that excess air to shoot back out the intake. That's where you get the sound from.

I have the same sorta thing when shifting 1-2 and 2-3. I think it sounds cool and I have had people comment on it. Hell, even the guys @ the Mitsubishi dealership I work @ think it's turboed (except the mechanics).

I have the same thing I kinda like it but I had a bunch of stuff replaced on my exhaust thinking that was the problem...my flex section needed it and i had all the welds and joints inspected for leaks...wow wasn't that a f***ing waste.

Yeah I had the same thing happen, I don't eat beans anymore and it stoped. :D
